White TigerPeter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #9-#10
In his first appearance in Spider-Man comics, the White Tiger is impersonated by ESU Professor Vasquez in order to steal a valuable document known as the Erskine Manuscript from the ESU library. The professor's intent was to steal the document in order to force the university to maintain the university's night school for the ethnic minorities. Hector Ayala was a student at ESU and witnessed the robbery. As the White Tiger, he confronted the professor, but was confronted in turn by Spider-Man. The two fought and chased each other back to Hector's home neighborhood before the misunderstanding was sorted out. Realizing the harm he was causing, Professor Vasquez confessed to the impersonation, and the White Tiger's name was cleared. |
