Trapster

  • Real Name: Peter Petruski
  • Identity: Professional Criminal
  • Group Affiliation: Frightful Four
  • First Appearance: Strange Tales #104
  • Status: Active

Powers & Abilities:

The Trapster has no superhuman powers or abilities of note.

Equipment & Weapons:

The Trapster equips himself with a variety of weapons and devices based on this 'traps' motif. His primary weapon is his paste shooters (worn on his wrists). Attached to glue tanks strapped to his back, the Trapster can spray out a powerful adhesive. The Trapster can ensnare foes with this paste, and the adhesive is strong enough to restrain even the Thing. The Trapster is experienced enough with his paste shooter that he can easily pin foes to the wall or floor, disrupt machinery, build defensive walls, and draw objects to him via a paste "lasso". The Trapster's boots and gloves are designed to release minute quantities of this paste which allows him to literally walk or crawl up walls.

The Trapster also uses a lubricant shooter (also fired from wrist shooters). This device can coat a floor with a slippery grease which makes the surface almost completely frictionless. It is impossible to get traction or maintain balance on a surface coated with this lubricate or to hold onto an object coated in it.

Finally, the Trapster carries a variety of hand-thrown devices. Some of this are simple explosives or grenades. Other device snap closed on an opponent's limb. Also, he carries some "memory wire" devices that, when triggered, spring into a pre-determined shape like a cage. Typically, when the Trapster is working with the Wizard, he carries some of the Wizard's anti-gravity discs and other devices.

Origin:

Peter Petruski was a chemist who developed an extremely adhesive liquid. Motivated by greed, he decided to use his invention to commit crimes. He created a gun to spray this adhesive paste, and committed a series of crimes under the moniker of "Paste-Pot Pete".
