The Tinkerer ran a repair shop to disguise his original plan. He had teamed-up with an alien race and was inserting
special devices into radios and televisions sets that allowed the aliens to spy on human culture. Spider-Man, sensing something
wrong with the shop, investigated and during the ensuing fight, the shop went up in flames. Afterwards, Spider-Man found
a mask of the Tinkerer leading him to conclude that the Tinkerer was one of the aliens.
