Powers & Abilities:

The Tarantula had no superhuman powers. However, he was a very talented athlete with great leaping ability. He was an excellent close quarters combatant with good (yet within human limits) strength.

Equipment & Weapons:

The Tarantula wore gloves containing retractable razor blades and boots with razor-sharp points laced with a powerful knock-out drug. His traditional method of fighting was to leap up or kick and try to stick his opponent with the drugged boot tips.

Origin:

Anton Rodriguez was a revolutionary in an unidentified South America country. He masterminded and performed many plots involving bombings, kidnappings, and assassinations. After switching sides, to work for the government he originally fought against, that government created the identity of The Tarantula intending for him to serve as his country's Captain America. However, he could not control his bloodless, and after killing an army guard, he was forced to flee the country. How he ended up in New York City is unknown.
