In Amazing Spider-Man #150, Professor Smythe assaults Spider-Man with a trio of robots
designed to look and act like some of his toughest foes: The Vulture, Sandman, and
Kingpin. After the robot duplicate weaken Spider-Man, Professor Smythe confronts him in
the newest Spider-Slayer, a large spider-like robot designed to carry Professor Smythe
in a cockpit. After initially tying up Spider-man in cables, Spider-Man manages to free
himself and ends the Professor's short-lived reign of terror by yanking him out of the
cockpit of the robot.
