The Spider Slayers are designed with a variety of powers designed to help them in their task. Common powers include body armor, spider detection, entangling coils, and wall-crawling.

Origin:

The original Spider-Slayer was designed by Spencer Smythe with funding from J. Jonah Jameson. Its intent was to capture Spider-Man. Eventually Smythe and Jameson parted way. Smythe obsessed over Spider-Man, and continued to make more and more lethal Spider-Slayers. After his death, his son, Alistaire, picked up his obsession and continues to torment Spider-Man to this day.
