Amazing Spider-Man #154

The Sandman is freed from prison by an unidentified benefactor in Amazing Spider-Man #154. This person gives him his old outfit designed by the Wizard and hires him to recover a particular mechanism from a research facility. Once there, he lures Spider-Man to the scene in order to attempt to extract revenge for his prior defeats, but instead gets caught in a cryogenic ray and frozen.
