Origin:

Little was explained regarding the history of the criminal knowns as Photon. Jason Dean was an agent of Maggia which is presumably where he received his gun, costume, and training. In his single appearance, he assassinated Dr. Richard Ryder in order to steal his invention. He was ultimately captured by Spider-Man and Nova.
