Amazing Spider-Man #14

The Enforcers team up with Sandman in a cooperative effort to rid New York of crimefighters. Armed with an asbestos lasso and chemical foam fire extinguisher, the group ambushes and captures the Human Torch. The bring the unconscious Torch back to their hideout and lock him in a fireproof glass cylinder.

When they get the news that Spider-Man is back in action, the Enforcers set up a trap. They lead Spider-Man into a building and attack him with their combined might and several hired thugs. When the police come to break up the fracas, the Enforcers slip away and escape.

In order to lure Spider-Man into another trap, the Sandman spreads the location of their hideout on the street trusting that Spider-Man will find out eventually. Spider-Man does show up and slips past all the look-outs posted around the warehouse. The Sandman and Enforcers spring the trap when Spider-Man sneaks in to free the Torch. The Sandman and Enforcers are unable to prevent Spider-Man from freeing the Torch, and the two heros manage to apprehend the Enforcers and the rest of the gang.
