Powers & Abilities:

Mysterio has no inherent powers, but he is a expert at designing special effects and stage illusions. He is also a master hypnotist.

Equipment & Weapons:

Mysterio carries on his person various devices and hallucinogens designed to foster his illusions. He outfit can emit thick smoke to obscure vision, or hallucinogenic gases to enhance his illusions, or a toxin designed to dull Spider-Man's spider-sense. He also carries a variety of lasers, mirrors, and hypnotic aids on his person. He has been known to carry and use more conventional weapons as well.

Mysterio's helmet is a one-way plexiglass mirror which allows him to see out unimpeded, but prevents anyone from seeing in. This helmet is designed to protect Mysterio from his own hallucinogens and carries its own half-hour air supply.

Origin:

Quentin Beck began his career as a Hollywood stunt man, but quickly turned to the field of special effects. After becoming one of the top effects designers in the country, he grew disillusioned with the lack of recognition he received for his work. Finally, at a friend's suggestion, he moved to New York, and faced off against Spider-Man in an attempt to imitate and discredit the hero.
