Morbius

Marvel Team-Up #3-4

After his last defeat by Spider-Man, Morbius is dragged out of the Harlem River by a passer-by named Jefferson Bolt. Morbius awakes and makes Jefferson his latest victim. Instead of killing Jefferson, Morbius feeds from him, but leaves him alive as another pseudo-vampire.

Over the course of several weeks recovering his strength in the company of Jefferson. Jefferson seems happy at his transformation and what he's become, but Morbius feels guilt over creating another vampire. Morbius goes to seek out a former colleague - a Professor Hans Jorgenson.

As luck would have it, Morbius arrives at the college campus while Spider-Man and the Human Torch are talking to Professor Jorgenson. During the battle, the local college students, lead by Jefferson, get involved to defend Morbius. While the heroes are distracted, Morbius attempts to feed from Jefferson's brother Jacob. Jefferson leaps on Morbius to defend his brother, but he is killed when Morbius swats him aside. Seeing Spider-Man rallying his strength, Morbius takes to the sky and flees.

On a later attempt, Morbius succeeds in kidnapping Dr. Jorgenson, but Spider-Man is blamed when a housekeeper stumbles upon him in Dr. Jorgenson's office. This attracts the attention of Professor X and the X-Men. The X-Men capture Spider-Man but find that Morbius is really responsible for the kidnapping. The track down, capture Morbius, and free Dr. Jorgenson in the process.
