Lightmaster hires Kraven to assist the Tarantula after the Tarantula failed to assassinate the mayor.
Together, the two successfully kidnap NYU Chancellor Richard Gorman. After delivering the chancellor
to Lightmaster, Kraven returns to NYU campus with his two bengal tigers hoping to ambush Spider-Man.
His instincts prove correct as Spider-Man appears on the scene. The ambush fails as Spider-Man
lures the tiger into traps Kraven laid for him. In hand-to-hand combat with web-slinger, Kraven electrocutes
himself when his knife misses Spider-Man and embeds in a theater marquee.
