Hobgoblin

  • Real Name: Roderick Kinglsey
  • Identity: Former Fashion Designer, Professional Criminal
  • Group Affiliation: None
  • First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #238
  • Status: Possibly retired

Powers & Abilities:

After using a derivative of Osborn's goblin formula, the Hobgoblin had a strength level nearly equal to Spider-Man's.

Equipment & Weapons:

The Hobgoblin rode around on a goblin glider that was either a copy or modification of the Green Goblin's goblin glider. The glider had enough range to carry the Hobgoblin around New York and enough life to carry up to two full-sized adults. At times, the Hobgoblin also used a armored battle van as a mobile base of operations.

The Hobgoblin also used a variety of weapons that were either created by or adapted from the Green Goblin's designs. The Hobgoblin could fire electrical blasts from his finger tips. Also, he often carried a satchel with him filled with razor-sharp throwing bats (similar to throwing stars), concussion and incendiary grenades shaped like miniature jack-o'lanterns, and gas grenades with a fluttering cloth exterior that looked like flying wraiths.

Origin:

After developing a financial empire based on his fashion design houses, Roderick Kinsley searched for more unconventional methods of amassing a fortune. After finding one of Norman Osborn's hidden stashes of Green Goblin equipment and journals, Kinsley duplicated the goblin formula to give himself super-strength and went on a crime spree in the New York underworld either acting as the Hobgoblin or manipulating proxies to act as the Hobgoblin.
