Site History:June 14, 2008: Updated the Green Goblin timeline. Reviewed Spider-Man #171, and created a page for the one-time appearance of Photon! June 1, 2008: Created a page for the Ringmaster and documented his appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #16. I also reviewed Amazing Spider-Man #170, and updated the Dr. Faustus page. May 25, 2008: Listed Kraven's first appearance and Chameleon's second appearance. Put up a review of Amazing Spider-Man #169 and also created pages for Doctor Faustus and Green Goblin III. I'm on assignment for my work with much of my stuff in storage, so I don't have the access to make the nice cutouts and images at the moment. I'm trying to make due with what I have, but I am taking notes on things that need to be done in the future when I can. Jan 15, 2008: Chronicled Mysterio's first appearance. Jan 7, 2008: Ok, apparently, I took a year off. But, I have a decent sized update. I redid a lot of the cast pages. I also added to the Doctor Octopus page. Dec 11, 2006: Nice little update. Each of the Enforcers (Fancy Dan, Montana, and Ox) have their own page featuring their first appearance. I also rolled out Cast pages for Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and Flash Thompson. Nov 6, 2006: Extra treat: The Big Man has a new page featuring his first appearance. Oct 31, 2006: Ok, no excuses, just an update. Three new issues of Amazing Spider-Man (116, 117, and 118) featuring the one and only appearances of the Disruptor and the Smasher (complete with Villain pages for each). Also, you'll be happy to note that ELECTRO finally has his own Villain page. July 31, 2006: So, I've got two issues of Marvel Team-Up reviewed featuring Morbius, and with that, I created a villain page for Morbius. I only added a new page to the Vulture's timeline and created a new villain page for The Living Brain. Enjoy! March 1, 2006: I can't decide if this is a large update or not. I only have one new issue reviewed: Marvel Team-Up #2. However, with that, I've got four new villain pages: Hobgoblin, the original Mysterio, Wizard, and Trapster. Also, I've got an update to the Sandman page. And if you haven't already, check out my new index page. It'll display different Spider-Man foes on it now (instead of just the Hobgoblin). Feb 1, 2006: First update of the new year! I'm going to try to make these monthly. Anyways, I've got two issues of Spectacular Spider-Man reviewed. I also updated the Vulture page, created a Hitman page, and created a Doctor Doom page. Oh yeah.. You'll be happy to know that the LONG reviews are back and here to stay. :) Dec 20, 2005: Well, I gave up on the old guestbook. I finally admitted defeat and realized that I did not want to invest the time and research necessary to make it relatively hacker- and spam-proof. So, welcome to the new Guestbook. I installed Lazarus. Looks very much like the old guestbook, but should be significantly more secure. We'll give this a test run and see how well it works out. Feel free to leave me some comments. Oct 2, 2005: Ok.. Long time since my last update. However, it is a good sized update. I've got 4 issues of Amazing Spider-Man up (#119, #120, #167, & #168). I updated Spencer Smythe's page, and I also added new pages for the Hulk, Spider-Slayers, and Will O' The Wisp. Coming up next month: Vulture update and new villain Hitman! Why does the Hulk get his own page? Well, I figured the Hulk and Spider-Man had faced off enough times that the Hulk warranted his own page. Oh.. I updated/fixed my Guestbook which has nearly eliminated the Guestbook spam I was getting. If you like the page, please drop me a line there. Feb 2, 2005: Hey, I made my deadline. Sort of. I SWEAR that this would've been up yesterday, but I mysterious LOST my issue of Marvel Team-Up #1. I had it last week while I was taking scans, and then, over the weekend, it vanished. I suspect the cats sold it on E-bay or something. Anyways, look for an updated Sandman page on Marvel Team-Up #1 review. Next month: 2 issues Amazing Spider-Man and an Incredible Hulk adversary page. January 22, 2005: Well, welcome to another year and another long overdue update. The shame of it is that I've had this update ready to go for practically forever. Anyways, it's not much. I re-did the Doctor Octopus and Sandman pages and included the first appearance of each. Also, I added a Ned Leeds cast member page. I have a New Year's resolution though. I WILL be updating the site on the first of each month. So, for February 1st, expect to see Issue #1 of Marvel Team-Up featuring Spider-Man, Human Torch, and The Sandman. Oh, and as you might've noticed, my Guestpage was hacked. After determining that my web hosting site was either unable or unwilling to do anything about it. I'm going to delete the old guest page and create a new one. I don't know if I'm going to put a lot of effort into getting the color scheme right though since I expect the new one will probably be hacked within a few months. Cross your fingers though. We'll see. October 3, 2004: Where does the time go? I can't believe it's been two months since my last update. Seems like I'm plenty busy these days. Anyways, 4 issue update (2 Amazing, 2 Peter Parker), and now I have to figure out what to do next. I should put up another supporting cast page (Ned Leeds perhaps?). I want to update the Doc Oct and Sandman pages to include their first apperances. I can go forward or backwards on my timeline with Amazing Spider-Man, forward with Spectacular Spider-Man, or even start the Marvel Team-Up series. Decisions, decisions, decisions. July 29, 2004: A big villain update. There's four villains. I have two "Who's Who" of Spider-Man foes (Kraven and Lizard), and two "Who's That?" for balance (Lightmaster and Stegron). Enjoy. 4 issue update to go with the villains is coming soon. July 8, 2004: Not a real big update. I create pages for the Burglar and the original Vulture. I also modified the Tinkerer's page and created a timeline for him too. June 23, 2004: So, what's new? For starters, check out the new Chameleon and Kingpin pages, and check out the review for ASm 163 & 164. On a more personal note, I've moved. This former resident of Milwaukee is now living the high life in Indianapolis. I've been playing Scrabble a lot and trying to establish a social life in Indy. Also, after a lot of thoughts, I've decided to cut back on the reviews. I love doing the villain pages, and I really feel like that's the high-point of the sight. The reviews are fun, but they take a lot. And, to be honest, they've been slowing me down. I might still do some, but for now, I want to stick to issue summaries. Sorry if I've disappointed anyone. Feb. 8, 2004: Well, I closed the gap with a four issue review. I also created a villain page for the Cyclone, the Scorpion, and updated the Jackal page. Coming soon: A Chameleon page, a page for Ned Leeds, and a two-issue review featuring the Kingpin! Made an addition to my links page as well. Nov. 10, 2003: Robbie Robertson cast page complete. Reviews involving the Cyclone and Scorpion coming soon. Oct 17, 2003: Introducing: Mysterio II including a review of ASM 141-142. Coming soon: Joe Robertson page and a Chameleon villain page. Sept 17, 2003: Where have I been? I took a self-imposed hiatus from the site. I felt like I was getting burned out and just going through the motion of putting out reviews. Luckily, I'm back, and here to welcome me the wild and wooly Grizzly. Along with him is a Norman Osborn guest-star page, and a two-issue review. I couldn't ask for a better villian to return to. Coming up soon, I'll have issues featuring Mysterio II, Cyclone, and the Scorpion. I can't wait. :) June 19, 2003: Yeah yeah.. Another slow update. Life goes on. Anyways, this isn't real big. We have a supporting cast page for Harry Osborn now. A new villain: the forgettable Mindworm, and a review of issue #138. Enjoy! April 28, 2003: Hmm.. I SWEAR I put out an update in March, but apparently I forgot or something. Anyways, there is a bunch of new stuff and recently retool things on the page. First, stop by and check out the Tarantula's new timeline which is really how I'm going to eventually design all recurring characters timelines. Next, swing through and see the Green Goblin II page. Also, I included some fan art here. My brother Max designed a "Home of the Green Goblin" banner which I used in the Green Goblin and Green Goblin II page. Col. John Jameson has his own supporting cast page. And I review the first appearance of the Green Goblin II in Amazing Spider-Man #136 & #137.February 28, 2003: Well, welcome to 2003! It has been awhile, but I've been on the road a lot recently. On the plus side, this has afforded me to get a lot done on the site. I'm finally finished with a massive 7-issue including updated bios for Doctor Octopus, Tarantula, Punisher, and Hammerhead. I've also got a new villain page up featuring the Molten Man, and you HAVE to check the recently created "Equipment Page" starting with the "Spider-Mobile". After this, I'm going to spend a couple of days to do a new "Supporting Cast" bio (John Jameson), and I want to re-think how I'm doing the timelines starting with the Tarantula's timeline. December 7, 2002: Oh my word. Three months (almost) since my last update. Terrible. So sorry. I blame traveling and a hectic work schedule. I finally have #127, #128, and JJJ page up as well. I'm going to do my best to bring you all a Christmas present though. My goals it to put 5 more issues by the end of the month. We'll see how it goes! September 25, 2002: The Kangaroo added to the Villain ranks, and issue #126 added as well. Next up: J. Jonah Jameson get his own page! September 11, 2002: Glory Grant added to the cast page while I'm home sick from work. September 8, 2002: New Man-Wolf villain page, and two new issues reviews. August 29, 2002: Profiling Dr. Curt Connors as a supporting cast member. No page for the Lizard yet. Coming up will be pages for Man-Wolf and possibly John Jameson. August 24, 2002: I fire off a quick review of Amazing Spider-Man #123. It guest stars Luke Cage, so no new villain pages or guest star biographies are included. August 14, 2002: I touched up the site a bit. More importantly though, I've reviewed the epic Death of Gwen Stacy storyline. Included is the essential Amazing Spider-Man #121 & #122 and a Green Goblin page. July 27, 2002: I created a Betty Brant page. I also updated the Hobgoblin picture on the front page awhile back. I'm hoping to also create a Green Goblin page sometime this weekend. Also, continuing my "cross-links from hell" method of web design, I included crosslinks to Betty Brant and Liz Allen on the pages that refer to those characters. July 17, 2002: All right, it's midnight, but I'm getting this update out today whether I like it or not. I have to start chewing off smaller one-issue bites instead of these three issues chunks again. Anyways, all sorts of little touches abound. Check out the new "Supporting Cast" page. Three new villains, three new issues. Just so you know, I'm going to drop the current timeline for issues reviews and go back a ways. I picked up a whole slew of back issues in Chicago two-weeks ago, and I'm want to show off something very special that I got. June 23, 2002: Making a heroic effort, I finally get the long awaited three-part storyline starring Doctor Octopus and Hammerhead published (Amazing Spider-Man #157-#159). Before I go on vacation the week of the 4th of July I should have a Tinkerer page and Amazing Spider-Man #160 up. After vacation, I should be ready with a variety of support cast pages in a major site update. June 13, 2002: I threw together a Hammerhead page real quick tonight. Will be reviewing three issues at once dealing with a Dr. Octopus/Hammerhead battle. June 11, 2002: Ok, it's been a week, but you're getting ONE new cool link (check it out!), TWO new issue reviews, and THREE new villains. Plus, I've added a "Site History" link, and also did some minor tweaking here and there. I'm pretty sure that EVERY page on this site has been updated in some fashion or another with this update. June 3, 2002: The Sandman debuts on this page and with him Amazing Spider-Man #154. This issue is head and shoulders above the last... and there was much rejoicing. May 30, 2002: Much to my disgust, I read and reviewed Amazing Spider-Man #153. This review is not for the faint of heart. Now, excuse me while I go wash my eyes out with bleach.
May 24, 2002:
I reviewed Amazing Spider-man #152 and updated the creator's page and Shocker's page.
May 19, 2002:
Amazing Spider-man #151 is reviewed. Shocker is added to the villain page. Creator's page is updated.
I also took Mark's advice and played with the fonts on the Villain's page. May 16, 2002: Amazing Spider-Man #150 is reviewed. Professor Smythe is added to the Villain's page. Creator's page is also updated. Also, I've been responding to some of the fan mail in the Guestbook. It's not quite a discussion board, but hopefully that will be corrected this weekend.
May 12, 2002:
We have a Guestbook!!!!! Please sign in and let me know what you think of the page. May 11, 2002: Spider-Villain officially debuts. The site is submitted to search engines, e-mails are sent, and discussion board posts are made. As time goes on, I'll see about getting some Spider-Man web rings and maybe get some links from other cool sites. May 10, 2002: Further testing to clean-up a few lingering bugs. Almost ready to go public here! May 8, 2002: Spidervillain.com gets hosted!!! Of course, we've only got three issues, two villains, two artists, and one writer documented, but from these humble beginnings, anything is possible!!! |
