History:

Liz Allen was a former high school classmate of Peter Parker's. During high school she had an on-again, off-again romance going with Flash Thompson. When Peter was accused of impersonating Spider-Man and confronting Doctor Octopus (Amazing Spider-Man #12), Liz developed a crush on Peter much to Flash Thompson's disgust and jealousy. She flirted constantly with Peter, and tried to compete with Betty Brant for Peter's affections. Peter did not feel the same way about Liz but maintained a close friendship with her by tutoring her in science and heeding her advice when she broke up fights between him and Flash. During this time, Liz's father helps Flash Thompson out by hosting Flash's Spider-Man Fan Club at the Avenue Dinner Club (Amazing Spider-Man #17). Also, both of Liz's parents attending her high school graduation (Amazing Spider-Man #28). After graduation, Liz decided it was time to grow up, stop being a dizzy blonde, and grow up. She and Peter parted ways shortly after high school graduation.
