Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #12-#15

Flash Thompson is shocked to find Sha Shan working in a restaurant in Chelsea in 'Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #3'. When he tries to talk, she cries and runs off in a panic. In subsequent issues, Flash returns only to be told by the restaurant owner that no such person works there. Not to be determined, Flash continues to return to the restaurant until he spots Sha-Shan in one of the apartment windows above the restaurant. Flash finally catches up to Sha-Shan at the restaurant only to have her explain that Achmed, the restaurant owner, is her husband. Disappointed, Flash wanders off.

Later, Flash stumbles upon a rally of a new cult called the Legion of Light. The rally is being hosted by the founders of the Legion of Light - a costumed couple called Brother Power and Sister Sun. Flash is about to leave when he realizes that Sister Sun is really Sha-Shan. He crashes the rally only to be blasted by light beams from Brother Light and Sister Sun. Spider-Man gets involves, rescues a stunned Flash, and brings him back to Peter Parker's apartment to recover.

When he awakes, Flash sneaks out of the apartment and returns to the restaurant where he found Sha-Shan earlier. He confronts Sha-Shan again. Achmed Korba, dressed as Brother Power, interrupts and starts literally throwing Flash around. Spider-Man arrives again and is promptly blasted out of the apartment window by Brother Power's and Sister Sun's light blasts. Instead of dealing with Flash, the pair get a message through their helmets and leave the scene.

Flash pairs up with Spider-Man and the recently arrived hero known as Razorback and follow Sha-Shan out an estate. There they see that Brother Power and Sister Sun are really working for the villain known as Hate-Monger (really Man-Beast in disguise). Flash is captured with Razorback and Spider-Man left chained up and about to die in an explosion. They escape the bomb and hurry to the Yonkers Coliseum from where the Legion of Light is televising a national rally. Flash assists Spider-Man and Razorback in battling the Hate-Monger. After a protracted battle in the stadium, the now-revealed Man-Beast's machinery explodes presumably killing the Man-Beast and Brother Power. Sha-Shan returns to the city with Flash, Razorback, and Spider-Man
